SPRING SOCCER UPDATES (2010)

Please refer to the following website for the most current and up to date information about Spring Soccer - (http://cysadistrict2.gotsport.com/). Refer to this website for a complete set of rules and procedures concerning Spring Soccer.


Spring Soccer 2010 Registration Directions:

  1. Register your team on line at http://cysadistrict2.gotsport.com/.  Follow the directions on registering your team to play in the D2 spring league.  Each team is now required to pay by credit card via the online team application procedure.  Minimum roster sizes are 13 for U11 and up and 11 for U10 and below.  After you have registered your team on line, follow these directions in order to get your team approved by the Santa Cruz County Youth Soccer League.
  2. All players – new and returning – must register to play Spring Soccer on-line through ClubReg.  Parents/coaches need to go to www.sccysl.org and follow the directions for how to register. 
  3. Spring league Fees:
    • Returning Player - $15 (player who registered to play CYSA in fall 2009)
    • New Player - $30 (player not registered with CYSA in the fall 2009)
  4. Paperwork Required by the Santa Cruz County Youth Soccer League:
    • ALL PAPERWORK IS DUE BY – February 19th or earlier!
    • ALL ROSTER ADDS DUE BY – March 20th (no exceptions)
      1. List of players in alphabetical order using complete and official names.
      2. 1601 forms for all players.  These will be given to the coaches by the parents once the player is registered on ClubReg.  The Fall 1601s can be used if needed.
      3. Please include a copy of the fall player pass if the player played on a CYSA team in a League other than Santa Cruz County Youth Soccer League.
      4. New players must include a birth doc if never registered with CYSA.
      5. ONE check for the player registration fees.  Checks must be made out to SCCYSL.  NO CASH ACCEPTED – ONE CHECK PER TEAM!!
      6. Any new adult on a team MUST complete an adult disclosure form (1628) on-line at sccysl.org – look for the Form 1628 Disclosure link.  Any new coach MUST also have a proper license and include two copies of this license.  ALL NEW HEAD AND ASSISTANT COACHES MUST BE APPROVED BY THE SCCYSL BEFORE BEING NAMED AS COACH TO ANY TEAM.
      7. Photos should not be turned into the League but coaches will need to collect 1 by 1 ½ photos for each player and adult on the team roster. Coaches will attach photos to passes and laminate the passes.
  5. In addition to the registration fees to play spring soccer please be aware that each team will have additional fees for referees, fields, and uniforms. (These fees could possibly be around $100 for referees and between $25 to $110 for fields for home games. Uniform costs will depend on any new players, etc.)
  6. All Spring Soccer paperwork is to be turned in to:

Questions for Parents/Players

What is Spring Soccer?

Spring soccer is a soccer league in Santa Cruz County for competitive teams and competitive players.  It is NOT a recreational soccer league.

Where can I find a recreational league for Spring Soccer?

Excel Soccer Club is a COED youth soccer club for all of Santa Cruz County.  Please visit their website at www.excelsoccerclub.org or call them at 425-0405 for further information. Excel is not affiliated with California Youth Soccer Association.

How can I register my child to play Spring Soccer?

Players can only play on teams that have a need for more players.  Please check our website at www.sccysl.org for more information on teams with openings.  You can also check with your local clubs to see if they know of any teams with openings.  The local club’s websites are available on this website

How much does it cost to play Spring Soccer?

The cost varies per team and is determined by the team.

When does the season start and end?

Questions for Coaches

How do I get a field for practices?

You need to go to your field coordinator in your local club and get fields assigned to you.  Please go their websites for further information.

How do I get referees for my games?

Susie Nowak, the SCCYSL Referee Coordinator will post the game schedule on the county Arbiter website.  Referees can sign up for games through that site.  Coaches may also contact referees directly and recruit them for games.  In the case of last resort, coaches may contact Susie Nowak for help in locating potential referees.  She can be contacted at susienow@pacbell.net

Referees are paid by the individual teams at the conclusion of the game.  Payment terms are usually cash unless you make prior arrangements with the referee.  Referee rates are the same as regular season and for 2009 Spring Season are:

  U17 and up U13 to U16 U12 and younger
Center $40 $35 $30
AR    $30 $30  $25

How do I get fields for my games?

A list of available fields and times will be posted on the county website at www.sccysl.org  Fields will be assigned on a first come first served basis. 

Please contact Marc Kirby, the SCCYSL Spring Soccer Coordinator, to reserve a field and time at marckirb@pacbell.net.  Please remember that the team will be responsible for field rental fees that range from $25 to $110 per game on all home games

What are the dates to register a team?
